Copywriting Mistakes You Should Never Commit

One of the biggest mistakes is not learning at least the basic details about what they are promoting. When you don’t know much about the product you are promoting it will show and nobody will buy from you. Your prospect would easily read through you and know that you don’t know much about the product. This will obviously have a negative impact on your conversions as well as on your sales rate. So always remember to know everything about the product you’re writing about, right from the benefits to the features. Once you have learned all there is to know about the product you can creatively play up its benefits. If you are sure of your product knowledge this will show in your writing and your customer will get a fair view of what you are selling. Don’t make the mistake of revealing too much in your sales copy and at the same time try to give all the details that are required. If you don’t know how to balance your information this can be tricky. You need to use the sales letter to both educate the customer and make him eager to purchase what you are selling. A good way to do this is to write about the many benefits of owning the product so that the potential buyer knows exactly how your product will better his life. Don’t go too heavy on specific features or the other details won’t really matter when it comes time for the customer to buy. Keep the fluff out of the sales copy and include the necessary details that you feel would influence your prospect’s buying decision. Lots of copywriters fall in love with what they are writing about and forget that they are not writing copy for themselves but are writing to get someone else to buy what they are selling. Focus on the potential customers you want to attract instead and then target your sales copy to them directly.
So you have to think about where you’re going to put the product or service price point. It usually is a mistake to introduce it too early, but really it all depends on the market you’re in. But what’s wrong in that? It just tends to bring down the interest level of the reader. It’s just that you always want people to read about your product and the benefits before they see the price. If you write with the idea that whatever you produce can be edited, then you’ll be able to relax more and write with more confidence. Some copywriters and marketers can be a bit shy when it comes to talking about the product price, but avoid feeling that way and clearly state your price. Don’t unconsciously attempt to ’slip it in’ with all the other text because there should be no reason to feel like you need to hide it.
