What I mean by this is do you carefully control each repetition of an exercise set? It is as important to be controlled going down as it is when you are going up. For instance if you are doing arms curls then you want to go as slow down back to the starting position as you are going up. This greatly increases the effectiveness of the workout. What I try to do is count the repetitions on a beat. Like maybe I will do two beats up and two beats down. That way I know I am getting the most out of each one.
