August 3rd, 2010 | by admin |Just looking at this old photo gives me that really good feeling I get from being near any kind of water – well not the bathtub, but you know what I mean – the ocean, lakes, rivers, streams. I just love the movement of the water and the way the sunlight reflects on it. Oh yeah, and then there are the fish!
When I caught that flounder in the photo, I probably didn’t even know about trout fishing yet. My first fishing experiences were at the Jersey shore, so there were no trout involved (unless we went to dinner and it was on the menu). As kids we fished in the bay and sometimes in the ocean. I loved everything about it, and I didn’t mind baiting my own hook, either. Some of my best childhood memories are the times I remember being in or around water, in or around boats, and anything to do with a beach. And, of course, fishing ranks pretty high in my favorite memories.
