Gotta Learn French

One of the first principles of learning any language is being open enough to accept the way it works. If you decide you are going to learn French, you have to be willing to accept its qualities and let go of your own tongue for a while. What can make the process harder than it has to be is when people want to force the new language to behave like their old one. No two languages are the same. The grammar and sentence structure of each language is unique (for the most part). So people who don’t understand this principle will start off with the wrong idea, expecting every language to have the same basic rules.

Learning French is more than just learning new words for things; you also have to be open to the other ways it is different and unique. Immersing yourself in your new language will elevate you to the advanced level very quickly. Some people learn best when they have no other choice. One of the best ways to do this is to travel to a country where French (or whatever language that you are trying to learn) is the primary language and your own language is a rarity. The result will be you chasing down the meaning of words and learning to communicate effectively in French because your survival depends on your success with the language. This method works best for those who reacts best under pressure and is not suited for everyone. A person may learn all sorts of phrases, like organic cotton comforter for example, anything for that matter!
