Getting the Proper Size Urn for Your Pet
August 15th, 2010 | by admin |If you’re looking to find just the right urn for your beloved pet, the first thing to figure out is exactly what size of urn your pet will need.
Follow these guidelines for selecting your urn.
1. Be sure that you know the weight of your pet before cremation – this will determine the quantity of ash remains left behind.
2. In general terms every 1 pound of body weight will produce 1 cubic inch of ash. That means, for example, if your pet weight 10 lbs. you need to search for an urn that has a minimum of 10 cubic inches of capacity.
3. It’s usually best to purchase a slightly bigger urn – between 1 and 2 cubic inches larger than you think you might need. That way you can be sure that everything will fit.
